MERU - Disabilities to possibilities

MERU is a charity that creates unique, assistive products for disabled children and young people. Among these products, MERU offers Bugzi powered wheelchairs. These are special wheelchairs able to offer the experience of independent mobility and a wide range of motion and spatial awareness for young children.

In 2024, MERU was awarded a grant of £4,000 by the James and Grace Anderson Trust for the production of Bugzi wheelchairs to be shipped from Surrey to Glasgow. Thanks to this generous donation, MERU was able to assist children to move independently for the first time in their lives, letting them gain spatial awareness and cause-and-effect skills which are vital to obtain at this key developmental stage. It also eases access to education and creates new opportunities for children to socialise and explore.
